Menu: June 16 – 22

I have high hopes for what will be included in this blog, but my computer has been difficult about starting up with any reasonable speed, I proctored a test all day yesterday, and we forgot we had matinee tickets for a musical this afternoon, so I haven’t had the time for the opening I had anticipated. I hope to include more of my logic for choosing recipes each week in the future and some information about my shopping for the week, and maybe if I’m super on top of things I’ll cross-reference recipes that can be found in multiple cookbooks.

But something is better than nothing, so here’s what’s on the menu this week:

Sunday, June 16: Corn and Black Bean Tortilla Tart, The Best Mexican Recipes

Monday, June 17: Spinach Salad with Grilled Beef, Mushrooms, and Miso-Ginger Dressing, Master of the Grill

Tuesday, June 18: Samosas, Cilantro Chutney, and Aromatic Yellow Rice, Indian Cooking by Madhur Jaffrey

Wednesday, June 19: Falafel, Pita Bread, and Tahini-Lemon Dressing, The Complete Mediterranean Cookbook

Thursday, June 20: Zucchini Tart, The New Family Cookbook

Friday, June 21: Sautéed Pork Chops with Port-Cherry Pan Sauce, Just Add Sauce, Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes, The New Family Cookbook, and Apricot, Vanilla, and Cardamom Pie with Rye Lattice-Top Crust, Cook’s Illustrated website

Saturday, June 22: Meatless “Meat” Sauce with Chickpeas and Mushrooms, Revolutionary Recipies

Note: I typically plan for dinners only, and then we eat leftovers or whatever else we have around the house for lunch. Also, Friday is my husband’s birthday, which is why there are several dishes and a pie.
